Preventive wellbeing is based on the concept of self care. But self-care is not a passive choice, it requires us to take action.

It isn’t a dose of pampering or an act of indulgence.

It is based in science, it refers to all the lifestyle choices you make each day and it is essential to optimal wellbeing.

Self care should be the foundation of any treatment program you follow.

Self care is literally taking care of yourself and it comes from being aware of what you need to function fully, grow, repair and maintain balance. It requires putting into place lifestyle habits and routines that encourage you to tune into your needs and attend to them each day.

Self care starts with you and in that sense, you are your primary carer.

If we fail to take care of our nutrition, hydration, exercise, rest, mindset etc then we can expect our body and mind to falter. But ticking all these boxes daily and weekly can get overwhelming unless we have a clear plan.

At Kähler wellbeing we offer you a space to be inspired and to learn how to create a self care routine that works for you and your family and that you can enjoy and sustain.

But most crucially at the heart of our advice is remembering to live for today, to have fun, be kind, be content with where you are at and to never take wellbeing so seriously that it becomes a stress.

Our content is written by qualified experts in wellbeing and functional medicine and is relevant to individuals or families who want to make a commitment to lead a more sustainable, healthy life but who also want those choices to allow them room to breath with carefree moments.

We focus on the basics and on self care because it is the most powerful place to start. According to research (1), basic healthy lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise when applied together, are associated with as much as an 80% reduced risk of developing the most common chronic diseases. And yet most of us are far from achieving balance in those basic healthy lifestyle factors. Most of us are not sleeping enough, not eating enough vegetables, doing enough exercise and are stressed.

Welcome to our space! I hope you find insight and inspiration here to become the healthiest and happiest you. My aim is to take you on a journey to show you that you are the key to your wellbeing and to regaining balance in your body and mind and that we need to get the basics consistently in place before we start clouding the water with complicated solutions. 

Life is complex and when things get overwhelming they often lead to stress. And yet over the years in wellbeing, we have managed to do little more than give too much information with complicated solutions and a very unclear path. We have focused on diving deep into details and on our uniqueness, instead of getting the basics right and looking at what we all have in common. But focusing on detail and on our uniqueness has made wellbeing hard to reach for the majority and has become overwhelming; either due to cost, time or how achievable the solutions are.  We have added to the stress pool despite knowing that “75% to 90% of human disease is related to stress and inflammation.” (2).  

We have created a model that encourages a 1:1 consultation.

So my focus is on  the ‘cookie cutter’ approach, the ‘one size fits all’, on the basics that apply to all of us and on working towards consistent daily routines. Because I believe that before we are unique, we are the same -  in fact, genetically we are 99.9% identical.  This is why I created a 2 level approach to regaining health which is based on my Good living philosophy.

By focusing on our similarities and our basic needs first, I can offer advice that is simple, affordable,  accessible to everyone and most importantly it can be shared from one person to another and amongst families and communities.  This is how we can make a global shift in the wellbeing model.  By making the information shareable.
